Cullompton is located in mid Devon, lying on the River Culm and next to the M5 motorway.
It is 12 miles (19 km) from Exeter and 6 miles (10 km) from the main town of Mid Devon, Tiverton. The parish covers nearly 8,000 acres (32 km2) and stretches for 7 miles (11 km) along the Culm valley.As of 2007 it had a population of around 8,600 people.
